Matt Darcy: Hey Pete! Thanks for doing the interview.
So it was recently announced that Havok will be joining Full Blown Chaos and Malevolent Creation on tour, are you excited?
Pete Webber: Yes! I can't wait. We are hitting a lot of cities. Some that Havok has never been to. So it should be a great tour!
MD: This tour like many others as of late, are not stopping in Massachusetts. Must be a bummer considering your from here. Speaking of, how was the shift from Mass to Colorado? What's the metal scene like in the Rocky's?
PW: Ya big bummer Matt unfortunately as my family and friends are from here and always will come see us play. And we also usually do really well when we play in Boston too. Colorado is pretty awesome. The metal scene is actually pretty good in Denver at least. There is a bunch of venues and they all seem to pack the crowds in for the metal shows. I actually read somewhere that Denver is like one of the 4 biggest cities for music lately which is pretty cool.
MD: That's great! Now I'm curious to where Boston/Worcester lies...
Does Candlelight help with shows/touring? How are they as a label?
PW: Ya we have not played Worcester yet so. Candlelight has not helped with tours. We have had or booking agent take care of that so far. or new CD will be out early 2011 and they have and will be helping us promote that. Which has been helpful.
MD: Well you guys should by some time for a Thrash Can show at good ol' Ralph's!
What's the name of the new disc and what can we expect from the new material?
PW: haha yeah man if we are ever in the area for sure! The name is "Time is Up". And you can expect total awesomeness! Sweet riffs, blistering drums, and even some slap a da bass man!
MD: You guys have done quite a bit of gigging throughout 2010, have a favorite show?
PW: Kansas City always rules for us! Every time we roll through there is a big ass crowd and its always a good time.
MD: Ok... You guys got the tour, the new release, what's next? Video perhaps or maybe kickass Havok lunch boxes? I would totally pick up a lunch box...
PW: Haha. No lunch boxes. But at least two videos are in the works for January which we are hoping to get On Demand. Also a couple drum videos for Youtube. New t-shirts and extensive touring for 2011.
MD: Awesome. Definitely catching you guys, that's if I already don't have show planned which happened last time you guys rolled through. Last time I saw you (specifically) was the Rattlehead show in Ravage's old jam space. If you don't mind me asking, what was the reasoning in leaving Ravage and relocating to be in Havok?
PW: Bigger opportunities. I felt like Havok had a much bigger foot in the door than Ravage. And doing this full time I needed that. I already have gotten endorsed through Pearl Drums and Aquarian drumheads. And I know this list will go on staying with Havok.
MD: Well things seem to be going quite well. Considering you shared the stage with Anthrax not too long ago. That must have been amazing.
PW: Ya that was pretty amazing considering they are one of the big four and all. Cool guys as well
MD: Well Pete, that's all I got for you. Thank you again for taking the time to chat a bit. See you on tour my friend! Any last words?
PW: Sweet Matt. Good talking to you too. Only last words is, everyone buy the new album when it comes out and see ya on the road!
